In the last days of 2006 I did an interview on local radio station Meridian FM, about the ‘Dorset story’ and it was well good fun. The station was set up by local businesses to be a community voice for East Grinstead and surrounding villages and has rattled a few cages. It was an honour to be part of the scene and I didn’t swear once. Loads of love and laughs to DJ Neil Symon and his trusty sidekick Genevieve Lacy for their saucy J and funky show on Friday nights…
And wish them all the very best for this year and many to come. The myspace thing continues to be cool, and now have reached 1000 friends. It’s great to type in the search bit and find people who I worked with/knew over the years, many of them musicians/songwriters/producers etc etc. There is also myspace comedy, myspace records, myspace films…..what fun. If you have a myspace set up, send me a comment (nothing too naughty now!) Or post some yourselves on the piccys page, or just send a add request. And if you just happen to be blond/dark haired, pretty, Australian and gorgeous could you please hurry up…!! (Hey Jud and Cud……….)
Babe of the month for January 2007 comes in the form of the mouth-watering and deeply delicious Miss Vikky Spit. Not only a raven haired stunner but also the bass player for a cool freaky blast mental in your face rock and roll band…Check ‘em out… www.spitlikethis.com It felt odd this morning, walking down the street with hundreds of pounds in my pocket. Do I get a new guitar, some wild cloths, a room, champagne and a couple of dirty women? A haircut? A life? No: because like the hard working good citizen that I am I went into a funny box shaped shop and gave it all to the Government..! Am I mad, deranged, and loopy? No, It's called being self-employed. And like all good people I was paying my flippen’ tax bill. Being S-E has many advantages, like if an employer pisses you off you can say 'well fuck you’. Paying tax is like death, a certainty.
I wouldn’t mind too much, but then to read that it’s going to all the scroungers, layabouts, parasites and immigrants flooding into this country by the thousands, and that MP’s are doing nothing about it makes me want to spit blood.
Some very good mates of mine, who have worked hard all their lives and paid into the system, summed up the situation quite poetically the other night. This country is 'fucked'
