Latest News Sept 2006……

Many greetings my friends, you may have noticed over the last few months the latest news section (Home Page) is sort of turning into a mini-rant itself. I’m just so into this writing lark it can’t be helped….so onwards and upwards…

St.Swithins church. East Grinstead, UK

Most of you that have read the Dorset Arms story will be familiar with these names, for those unaware the three people above were burnt at the stake on 18th July 1556 in East Grinstead’s old high street.
History and religion has clouded the story but research tells of three innocent and harmless souls cruelly dispatched from this world due to their beliefs at a time of turbulent political/religious ciaos… Nothing new there then!
Due to stupidity and suspicion they were known as 'Witches', and time has thankfully lessened this tag to the more feasible term 'Martyrs'…

As an Atheist I find it inhumane that people could be treated in such a manor, and the fear and disgust it cast across England at the time bares witness to the hypocrisy of it all.

On a sunny day last month, July 18th 2006 a small and dignified service was held at St.Swithins, to commemorate this sad event in English history, 450 years ago.

And so now to 2006. Where the word Martyrs casts a different light.

What can possibility posses a person in a so-called civilised world to strap high explosive to themselves and kill innocent people?
I have neither the time, space nor patience to fully rant off about this one, but it seems odd that 450 years ago the state murdered the people, who became Martyrs in the name of religion. And today it seems the Martyrs are murdering the state and its people, in the name of… Religion.
It's beyond me, it really is…

Rest in peace.

I fink some geezer called 'John Lennon' wrote a song years ago…

Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for and no religion to
Imagine all the people living life in peace.

But 'hey' it’s not all gloom and doom this month as the X-factor returns to our screens. I like Cowell and the gang. There funky.

It's not just a good belly laugh watching complete morons making complete….err, morons out of themselves but the show has a great sense of humour and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
One worrying factor is how convinced the disillusioned 100,000 people who turn up truly believe in themselves.

But that's a good thing.
The noises and squeaks that they make justifies the picture above.

And would you want to sit through days of that. I would have gone down the pub hours ago…

But its fun and I’d like to say Sharon’s looking pretty fit, but I better not or Ozzy will probably bite my head off.
And who gives a toss about what clone will win, maybe they should just forget about that and have a show full of freaks.
Actually, now Big Brothers finished there might just be a gap in the market.

Cool.

And finally this month a good mate of mine, know as 'Nutty Boy' to thousands of screaming teenage girls got himself a new drum kit …and isn't it a beauty.
We’ve done some great gigs together, the Cartoon in Croydon www.thecartoon.co.uk www.hareliquintheatre.co.uk and the good 'ole 101 club in East Grinstead. He is also the man that powers the www.thetwelvesullivans.co.uk in their wild and frenzied live shows. Nice one nutty…all the best.

Drummers are cool…

That’s it for this month, take care, be happy and don’t let the bastads grind you down.
